This here is a classic, light weight, 100% virgin wool Filson Cruiser. Beautiful dark olive-green, this virgin wool is tightly woven and soft enough to wear on skin.

This classic cruiser design features:

  • 6 Filson embossed snap closure
  • 4 front pockets with snap flap closure
  • Divided pen pocket on front left breast pocket
  • Smaller watch type pocket on front left hip pocket
  • Rear pass through game pocket.

The name “Cruiser” stems from a term for timber surveyor’s in the Pacific Northwest for whom Filson’s original design was patterned for.

Resoled Redwing 875 6″ Moc Toe Boots.

A while back I came across a used pair of Redwing 875.  The original soles had been worn to down to nothing but the uppers were in good shape. Knowing that they could be resoled I snatched them up for future use. They hung around in my garage for six months until this fall. I took them to my local Redwing retailer to have them sent back to the factory to be resoled. I was as little disappointed to find out they sent their boots to a local cobbler and not the place of origin, but agreed to send them out anyway. The local guy did a great job using Vibram soles instead of the Redwing stamped version.  When the boots landed back in the shop the associate oiled them and threw in some new laces before I picked them up.

If you are looking to get into a pair of Redwing having an old boot is a great way to go. Cost of the resole in this instance was $80 + tax.

Woolrich Striped Hudson Bay Blanket Jacket

Vintage Woolrich Hudson Bay blanket inspired  jacket. These Heavy weight wool jackets feature a  heavy-duty two-way YKK  “sleeping bag” zipper. The zipper is hidden behind a Woolrich logo stamped snap button placket. Blanket stitched edges outline the openings and add durability to the piece. Hudson Bay woolens come in various color combinations, but he green, red and yellow may just be the very best.

Buco Motorcycle Half Helmet

This vintage Buco  helmet seems to be the same shape as the Guardian model, but is not labeled as such on the rear snap. Three snap front for shield and visor attachments. Buco embossed rivets on the exterior for the straps, rear snap is also embossed by the maker. Adjustable inside from 6 1/2 – 8″ Vinyl ear flaps, chin strap and and D ring. This helmet is very comfortable despite not  having  the cloth coated foam padding we are used to in more modern helmets. In fact the only real padding in this helmet is in the very top of the helmet allowing the heavy lid to sit more comfortably on the crown of the head.

The exterior is a blue sparkle paint with the addition of red reflective stickering. I am unsure if the stickers are aftermarket or not.
